A scenic 45-minute drive up the coast from Miami, winding through the boating canals and brand name resorts of Fort Lauderdale, leads to Pompano Beach, a seafront city drenched in sunshine and laid-back sophistication. Thirty miles south of Palm Beach, Pompano is often called the heart of the Gold Coast, offering sun-thirsty denizens a platter of fine sand beaches, oceanfront parks, and lush golf courses, in addition to exceptional fishing and diving thanks to a healthy offshore coral reef. (Local tidbit: though the beaches here do feature soft golden sand, the term Gold Coast refers to the stretch of top-end real estate that lines the oceanfront.)
Pompano recently welcomed its latest residential newcomer with the groundbreaking of the Ritz-Carlton Residences, a stunning two-tower collection of ultra-luxury homes. Designed by superstar local architect Luis Revuelta (responsible for the ambitious Brickell Flatiron building in Miami’s booming Brickell nabe, considered a mini Manhattan), the buildings will rise from a sprawling waterfront lot that stretches from the Atlantic to the Intracoastal Waterway, a oreding endless views. e property’s impressive pedigree doesn’t stop with Revuelta; Fortune International Group, Oak Capital, and Fairwords lead the development, while the world-renowned Milanese architect and artist Piero Lissoni envisioned the interiors and landscape concept.
e owners-only property is divided into two towers: the Marina and the Beach. e Marina Tower is home to a sea of cascading resort-worthy amenities that culminate in a private marina. e Ritz-Carlton expects owners to be ocean explorers; whether their vessel is a steadfast sailboat or swanky yacht, they have a place to dock at night. A spacious outdoor lounge area, re pit, swimming pool, and private teak pier surround the base of the 14- floor tower. Sitting directly adjacent to the marina, the pool deck and entertainment hub is ornamented with chic, Lissoni-designed cabanas, numerous chaise lounges, lush gardens, and coconut palms. ere’s also a pet spa area for furry family members.
The lobby area begins with a dramatic porte cochére, dropping o denizens in front of the stunning double-high lobby with a 24/7 reception and concierge desk and signature Lissoni sculptural staircase. ere’s a fitness center, a kids club room, wellness center, and happy hour bar, but the real star of the show is the Yacht Club, a sun-filled multipurpose social space with indoor and outdoor seating, a premium bar, and a grand piano room. A game room with billiard’s table, virtual golf simulator, reading lounge, and wine bar with a 20-foot-wide TV screen round out the Marina’s amenities.
The Beach Tower also offers super-premium amenities, sharing many similarities with its Marina cousin with a few notable differences, including 250 feet of prime ocean frontage. The resort deck boasts two ocean-facing infinity pools with panoramic views, plus a sunken lounge for sipping rum cocktails while watching the waves roll by. Where the Marina received a pet spa, the Beach offers a dog park, plus a meditation lawn, bocce court, and juice and nutrition bar. is tower’s social hub is aptly named the Beach Club and features an airy pergola lounge, circular outdoor beach bar, full-service restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating, and direct ocean access. Lissoni’s famed sculptural staircase also graces the lobby.
