FERRARI BLASTS BACK INTO THE SPOTLIGHT WITH THE UNVEILING OF THE FIERY F80, ITS FIRST NEW SUPERCAR IN OVER A DECADE
BY ARCHANA AITHAL ROSE
Prepare to meet the F80, a beastly supercar that’s set to rewrite the performance playbook. Powered by Ferrari’s famed V12, you ask? Nope! The marque’s new flagship is fed by a twin-turbo 3.0L V6 along with a trio of electric motors that, together, deliver – wait for it – 1,200 horsepower, resulting in Ferrari’s most powerful street car of all time. This is the same architecture used in Ferrari’s 499P, which has taken back-toback victories at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2023 and 2024. The F80 launches from 0 to 62 mph in a blistering 2.15 seconds and reaches 124 mph in just 5.75 seconds with a top speed of 218.
Its carbon-fiber chassis keeps things light, while advanced aerodynamics, including an active rear wing, front triplane wing, and massive S-Duct, generate a mind-blowing 2,200 lbs of downforce at 155 mph. An active suspension fine-tunes handling and stability, ensuring a razor sharp ride on both the street and circuit. A robust CCM-R Plus braking system was co-developed with Brembo to beef up mechanical strength and thermal conductivity.
Inside, the F80’s unique 1+ cockpit layout prioritizes the driver experience. (Hence the 1+ designation rather dubbing it a two-seater.) The driver’s seat is rendered in bright red (the passenger seat is midnight black), and a slim, flat-sided steering wheel features haptic switches. Limited to just 799 models, the F80 will be a showpiece in any exotic car collection, assuming buyers have the $3 million and change to bring one home. Deliveries are expected to kick off in late 2025.
