Hartshorne Mansion, the home of Kurt Richter on the
Shrewsbury River in Little Silver, was the venue for Pacific
Encore Performances Summer Musicale on Saturday, June 18.
As the strawberry moon rose over the river, the music
of Puccini, Verdi, and Dvorak created an unforgettable
ambiance. Pacific Encore Performances is a unique musical
repertory company that gives the training and performance
opportunities necessary for success on the main
stages of the world. In return, company members perform
benefit concerts to raise funds for other needy non-profit
organizations.
The “Rising Stars,” a gifted group of young singers
(ages 7 to 17) from Axelrod Performing Arts Center in
Deal, who train and rehearse with Pacific Encore members,
filled the intoxicating summer air with melodies from
major Broadway musicals and operatic favorites from La
Traviata and Tales of Hoffman.
