Beautiful couple enjoying in the back massage.
A from-the-heart quick guide to great V-day gift giving

by Frank Bennett

Love is in the air again this time of year as we embark on yet another Valentine’s Day. But interestingly enough, how we all interpret love varies person to person, so, before searching out the best way to say “I love you” to the apple of your eye, take the following into consideration:

Some people enjoy an act of service from their partner to feel loved (a good example of this is cooking a romantic dinner). Others enjoy the gift of words… a great hand-written note or card (in my research, most men light up when the ladies in their life tell them how valued they are in providing and how well they do in their careers, while women benefit best with compliments about inner and outer beauty).

But for the most easily recognized sign of affection…there are gifts.

Statistics show that while all people enjoy receiving a gift from a special someone, recipients feel particularly validated when that special person takes the time to get them something meaningful.

To that end, I’m a man who likes to hedge my bets, so my best advice this Valentine’s Day is to cover your bases.

Plan a day out together, say, with a Couples Retreat or our Spa Package that features a couples massage and chocolate body scrub, then some romantic takeaway gifts. To top it all off, do a good deed that you know the one you love will melt for… so some chocolates and roses wouldn’t hurt.
