AS A RAVISHING RIPOSTE TO THE BLEAKNESS OF WINTER, CHANEL’S NEW BELTED CARDIGAN TWINSET WITH EQUALLY RIVETING ACCESSORIES INVITES AUDACIOUS WEARERS INTO A SPRING OF OPTIMISM
BY ARCHANA AITHAL ROSE
When envisioning Chanel’s spring-summer ‘23 collection, creative director Virginie Viard didn’t have to look too far for inspiration. Taking cues from the animal iconography in founder Coco’s Parisian apartment on 31 Rue Cambon, the designer used her team of artisans to belt out looks infused with color and whimsy. One standout is this sumptuous cardigan-dress combo presented in textured cotton and stamped from top to bottom with the Chanel logo. The one-shoulder dress is paired with a matching cardigan, both rendered in spring-ready hues of ecru, pink, sapphire, and turquoise, and punctuated with accessories, including glamorous earrings, a choker, and a chunky cuff in metal and strass. The Chanel ‘22 handbag in a light mint calfskin with gold metal hardware adds a subdued pop of color, while the slingbacks in suede calfskin reflect the effortless transition into the warmer months.
