Part work of art, part heirloom: Buccellati’s Etoilee 18K Bracelet
by Taylor Amatuzzo
In 1919, goldsmith Mario Buccellati began a jewelry business that later incorporated his son Gianmaria’s design genius. Now Milan-based and applauded for exquisitely textured pieces, Buccellati’s combinations of metal and stone are intricate and artlike—the Etoilee Cuff a poignant example of both qualities.
Tiara-inspired with a gate-like motif, the cuff boasts a 1.5-inch thickness (lots of room for detail) and a split-back for slip-on ease. An 18-karat gold intertwining rope design houses 4.91 carats of white diamonds, and the sum is a delicious dish of scalloped edges and confident symmetry. Fit for royalty and heirloom-worthy, it would pair stunningly with a classic evening gown, satin pencil dress, or an elegant bridal attire.
Last year, the brand opened its flagship store on 714 Madison Avenue—where one can take in Lucrezia Buccellati’s newest pieces (the first woman and youngest designer to join the brand).
