MONTE THE LABEL MAKES PRETTY CLOTHES FOR THE GOOD OF THE MODERN-DAY WOMAN AND THE PLANET

BY RHIANNA JONES

The pandemic has been a wake up call for us all, particularly regarding our collective impact on the world and environment. And now, as we slowly ease our way back toward togetherness, our consciousness can guide our futures forward. It was this same ideology that inspired Dawn McKnight to launch MONTE the label after working 15 years in fashion retail. She wanted to design a line that’s as ethical as it is exuberant, crafted with responsible and respectful production in her hometown Los Angeles. MONTE is designed by women, for women, so everyone can feel empowered and inspired to shine.

The collections evoke a sense of serenity and sustainability, with ethereal pieces and playful prints rooted in earth tones, natural silhouettes, and delicate knits. Whether soaking up the rays or frolicking along the city streets, MONTE’s easy, breezy pieces feel decidedly calming, compassionate, and connected to the environment. From floral dresses and gauzy jumpsuits to colorful separates, each collection is fresh and feminine, made of “feel-good” fabrics sourced from socially conscious mills.

“It is a time of real creativity, open-mindedness, and paying attention to the world of the consumer,” noted the founder. “I am watching and listening to the behavior and needs of women today.” After the emotional rollercoaster year we’ve all endured, we’re seeking opportunities to refresh and renew. Consumers are also craving celebration after all the isolation, and MONTE’s collections abound with happiness and joy. Our wardrobes act both as a type of armor we use to wander courageously into the world, but also a source of comfort and confidence. MONTE marries this balance perfectly, inspiring the wearer to radiate her best self with every step she takes.
