SWISS LUXURY WATCHMAKER HUBLOT MAKES HOROLOGICAL HISTORY WITH THIS NEWLY RELEASED, LIMITED EDITION SPIRIT OF BIG BANG TIMEPIECE IN BLAZING YELLOW

BY ARCHANA AITHAL ROSE

Swiss watchmaker Hublot has done it again with a first of its kind: a high-performance timepiece that not only pushes boundaries, but completely redefines them. The latest entry in the Big Bang legacy, which launched in 2016, this dazzling 42mm timepiece is presented in a polished yellow sapphire case that got its vibrant sunshine hue by blending copper with aluminum oxide. But beauty aside, this watch is tough. Its sapphire composition is nearly as hard and scratch-resistant as diamond (9 on the Mohs scale while diamond is 10) but as light as titanium with a total weight of 107 grams. Consisting of 278 parts, the timepiece offers 50 hours of power reserve, and the see through dial reveals blackened titanium components with markers and hands in sharp contrasting yellow. A ribbed yellow strap anchors the watch, while the yellow bezel is appointed with black titanium screws and pushers. Only 100 iterations will be made.
