INSIDE SCOOP

It’s national ice cream month and New York’s best ice cream scoop shop is celebrating ten years. Morgenstern’s became famous for redefining contem porary ice cream flavors, perfecting raw milk ice cream and classics like burnt honey vanilla and salted caramel pretzel, mixing in crunchy pretzels to order. There are no samples here, but with dozens of flavors available any given day, ranging from familiar to wacky, there’s something for everyone. To celebrate this milestone birthday, they’re reintroducing popular flavors from the past, like olive oil chocolate orange, schoolyard mint chip, and strawberry pistachio pesto along with inventive newcomers like Arnold Palmer cobbler and salted malted banana custard. 88 West Houston Street, morgensternsnyc.com

WRITTEN IN THE STARS

Hospitality power-duo Bobby Papachryssanthou and Steven Duran (former owners of Tao Group) recently debuted Little Dipper, the Big Apple’s first astrology-themed cocktail bar. The intimate 40-seat concept features a creative cocktail program that serves, fittingly, 12 drinks, each fashioned after a Zodiac sign. Early April babies can sip the Aries-inspired Warrior Vibe, a blend of whiskey, aloe honey, cherry bitters, and green tea infused tableside, while Libras are treated to the Balance, made with strawberry-infused amaro, absinthe, and cinnamon cream. There’s also a selection of shareable bites like chicken and caviar with French onion dip, egg salad on toast, and smoked trout dip. 135 W 30th Street, littledippernyc.com

SWEET NOTE

You might recognize Filipino-American chocolatier and pastry chef Daniel Corpuz from Netflix’s School of Chocolate, or you may have even tried his desserts in the past at The Modern and One White Street, where he worked as a pastry chef before turning his attention to chocolate. He opened a small storefront in Canal Street Market in June 2022 where you can watch him at work, specializing in Asian-inspired chocolate bonbons with f lavors like yuzu Saigon cinnamon, black sesame, and ube. More recently, he started shipping these colorful gems nationally, too, so you can send sweet gifts across the country. 265 Canal Street, danielcorpuz.com

EXALTED VAULT

You may be familiar with Paramount Caviar, served at Le Bernardin and Ritz-Carlton hotels. The iconic caviar purveyor recently opened a caviar tasting room with speakeasy vibes adjacent to their company headquarters in Long Island City. They offer immersive caviar tastings for private bookings along with small group classes twice a month, which have been selling out quickly. Taste your way through six different kinds of imported and domestic caviar and roe, while learning about the history, art, and science behind the luxury ingredient. Bring your own beverage to pair and learn about the complex and labor-intensive process of how sturgeon are sustainably raised and how caviar is produced, graded, and served. 38-15 24th Street, Long Island City, thecaviarvault.com
