SWAROVSKI PRESENTS A DAZZLING MENAGERIE OF SPOTTED CATS IN THIS LIMITED-EDITION TABLETOP FOR THE DISCERNING CRYSTAL COLLECTOR

BY ARCHANA AITHAL ROSE

In 2009, Austrian crystal powerbrand Swarovski dreamed up the revolutionary Pointiage technique, a meticulous method of hand-setting that ultimately enhances a crystal and illuminates its shine. The technique has been implemented across thousands of stunning, thought provoking pieces, including the brand’s latest offering, a crystal-clad, statement structure featuring a majestic family of cheetahs. Inspired by the Luganda word mirembe (meaning peace), the collec-tor’s piece depicts a tranquil, native setting of a mother cheetah and her cubs perched atop a bare wood bark. The object, fashioned with more than 53,000 crystals, took 324 hours to complete.

Each figurine is exceptionally detailed, inlaid with Swarovski’s signature tear-shaped stones, from eyes to mouth to spotted fur. Limited to only 200 pieces worldwide, this heart-pounding curio is an exquisite example of Swarovski’s expert craftsmanship, and a fascinating way to add a touch of wild to your display case.
