GUERLAIN SPA MARKS ITS HIGHLY ANTICIPATED RETURN TO THE REIMAGINED WALDORF ASTORIA NEW YORK, DELIVERING RENOWNED WELL-BEING EXPERTISE WITHIN A FLOOR-THROUGH RETREAT AT ONE OF THE WORLD’S MOST ICONIC LUXURY ADDRESSES

BY ARCHANA AITHAL ROSE

This summer, following a sweeping eight-year renovation initiative, the re-envisioned Waldorf Astoria New York unveils a new benchmark in urban wellness: the largest Guerlain Spa in the world. Anchoring the hotel’s holistic offerings, this expansive retreat marks a bold yet deeply intentional evolution for a house that has long intertwined beauty with ritual. Founded in 1828 in Paris, Guerlain has built a legacy of scent and skincare rooted in refinement, innovation, and reverence for the senses, a sensibility that finds new expression in the Waldorf Astoria spa. The space, conceived by Wimberly Interiors, echoes the building’s original Art Deco aesthetics with a touch of fresh, Parisian lightness.

Spanning the entire fourth floor, the 30,000-square-foot spa features 16 treatment rooms (including two VIP double suites), a state-of-the-art fitness center, and a curated menu of rituals, like the Spirit of Achievement, a breath-led deep tissue massage.

Downstairs, two Guerlain boutiques offer guests access to the brand’s iconic fragrances, skincare, and makeup. For residents of the 372 Waldorf Astoria private homes above, wellness extends beyond the spa itself, with in-residence treatments arranged by a dedicated concierge and access to a private pool and fitness center. More than a sanctuary, the new Guerlain Spa is a striking reassertion of the brand’s quiet mastery where beauty is not only seen and felt, but lived.
