America the beautiful: the face of a nation

I am often reminded of how beautiful people are when I see incredible acts of heroism and courage in the face of all types of injustices in this world. At times like those, I’m reminded of the collage that is America—a natural, undefiled beauty often seen in our kaleidoscope of different faces.

I find it exciting when I see women and men alike want to put the best foot forward; many times, this begins with their face and the freedom to be themselves and show who they really are.

I’ve been watching a trend develop for the last two years: more women, particularly, are starting to embrace natural appearance when it comes to putting on morning makeup—choosing a simple look as they venture out into the world. The idea is not to hide who they are and erase features as much as to make the face look well rested, wherein the skin tone matches the rest of the body. It’s about celebrating an overall uncluttered beauty women have when they are at their best.
