FULL-TIME MODEL PAIGE EREKAT HAS BEEN WALKING THE RUNWAY SINCE SHE WAS 18, AND SHOWS NO SIGNS OF SLOWING DOWN

INDUSTRY: How did you get started modeling?

PAIGE EREKAT: I was 18 when I decided to attend open castings for New York Fashion Week that I saw online. Being accepted into my first NYFW show was a rush I will never forget. That’s when I told myself I really have a shot at this.

IM: Tell us about some gigs you’ve done.

PE: One of my favorite experiences as a model was walking for Adore Me, one of my favorite brands. They have a store in the mall in my hometown. I used to go to the mall and shop at that store, so walking the runway for them was such a surreal feeling.

IM: What is your favorite thing about the winter season?

PE: The fashion. I love layering. My leather jacket is my best friend.

IM: Does your background influence your look?

PE: Sometimes, but ultimately my look varies day to day depending on how I feel. Having personal style is a way to express yourself without having to say a word.

IM: Where are you currently living?

PE: I live in the Upper East Side.

IM: Tell us about your career.

PE: It has been a rollercoaster and the ride of my life. I started with no comp card attending NYFW castings. Four years later, I am a full-time working model in Manhattan, walking every season of NYFW since I was 18 and shooting with photographers and brands from all over the world. I love what I do.

IM: What do you hope for in your future?

PE: I hope to one day have a platform big enough to start a nonprofit for animals.

IM: What are a few of your favorite things?

PE: Some of my favorite things include listening to music, working out, and playing with my dog.

IM: How would you describe your personality in three words?

PE: Resilient, compassionate, authentic.

IM: What did you always want to be when you were growing up?

PE: A Victoria’s Secret supermodel.
