THE CHILDHOOD PIANIST-TURNED-EDM-SENSATION, SWEDISH DJ AND PRODUCER ALESSO CONTINUES TO BLAST RAVE-STYLE DANCE BEATS SOAKED IN SHINE

BORN: The 32-year-old Alessandro Renato Rodolfo Lindblad hails from Stockholm, Sweden.

SOUND: Alesso has a long and varied body of work in disparate genres, but his sound most often falls into the camp of shiny, sultry electronic dance music.

BIG BREAK: Beginning his career as a budding bedroom wunderkind at the tender age of 13, he had already captured the attention of EDM superstars such as Avicii and Sebastian Ingrosso within three years. In 2011 (age 20), he released his first single along with the aforementioned Sebastian Ingrosso, entitled “Calling.” Immediately landing at number 2 on the Beatport chart, the shimmering track went on to chart in three countries. Thus began Alesso’s steady run of charting singles over the ensuing decade-plus.

NOTABLE ACCOMPLISHMENTS: If garnering a collab with one of your heroes on your first single weren’t enough, Alesso almost immediately thereafter became embraced as one of the best DJs in the world. In fact, he’s shown up on DJ Magazine’s list of the 100 best DJs every year since 2011, reaching the top 15 for three consecutive years. He won the 2012 International Dance Music Award for “Best Progressive Track,” and he’s composed or contributed to 19 different songs that have reached the charts worldwide.

LATEST WORK: Although he hasn’t released a new album since 2020 (an excellent EP crafted with Liam Payne entitled Midnight Hour), Alesso releases a steady stream of brilliant singles, the most recent of which with John Newman, entitled “Call Your Name.” He also tours regularly, with upcoming dates in Aspen, Mexico, and France.
