THE REALITY STAR-TURNED-DJ’S LATEST HOME IS A BEVERLY HILLS WONDERLAND

Richard Landry’s homes are the crown jewels of Los Angeles; the architect, whose masterpieces once won Robb Report’s Ultimate Home four years in a row, is known as much for his sprawling estates as for the A-listers that occupy them. Now, a Landry-designed show piece in the uber-exclusive North Beverly Park gated community is passing from the hands of one Tinseltown icon to another. The home, formerly owned by rapper-turned-movie star Mark Wahlberg, now belongs to the original “it” girl, one of Hollywood’s truly anointed: Paris Hilton.

Recently renovated, this masterstroke sprawls over a 6.2-acre lot in the heart of one of Beverly Hills’ most elite enclaves, home to fellow mega-stars like Adele and Denzel Washington. The home was picked up for $63 million by Hilton after she and her husband, Carter Reum, lost their home in the Pacific Palisades f ire earlier this year.

The property itself is a blend of estate and playground, pairing the refined tree-lined walks, colonnades, and fountains of the Italian villa with a suite of outdoor amenities that can only be described as pure California. The world-class athletic facilities include an expansive guest house and an oversized sport court perfect for basketball or pickleball, replete with courtside bleachers for spectators. As part of the compound, you’ll also find a five-hole golf course with a driving range, a skate park with a custom-designed bowl, and a resort-style grotto pool with slides, plus a patio and f ire pit. The 2028 Olympics are technically slated to be held in Los Angeles, but they could just as well be hosted at this property, with room to spare.

When the sun sets on another day of gorgeous California sunshine, the home’s rear terrace serves as the perfect transition from outdoor to indoor activities. In fact, the home is carefully designed to blur those lines; thanks to large patio doors, guests can step from the indoor bar out to the veranda, thoughtfully furnished to mimic the stately-yet relaxed feel of the interiors. Elsewhere on the first f loor, there’s the formal dining room, a spacious living room, and the two-story paneled library, all connected by interior colonnade-inspired hallways that call back to the column-and-arch motif found throughout the home. (Check out the silhouette of the French doors and casement windows throughout for further iterations of this style; as with every Landry home, attention to detail reigns.)

The library itself is a masterpiece, a far cry from the dark, mahogany caverns of yesterday’s mansions. Instead, the space is open and bright; a second-level balcony (lined with wrought iron railings) looks down over the main area. But it’s worth looking up, too; the ceilings throughout the home feature eye-catching coffers and intricate cornice work that add complexity without crowding the space.

“Minimalism” might be an odd word to throw around when talking about a super-mansion, but there is purism in Landry’s design that lends even the grandest space a sense of restraint.

The first level is rounded out by an expansive kitchen and family room complex, plus pantries, a separate prep kitchen, and dedicated staff quarters and offices. If all that is starting to sound a little too straightforward, don’t worry: the party continues in the home’s lower level, designed as an ultimate wellness and entertainment center. (Hilton has, in recent years, become a wildly successful DJ, so let’s put the emphasis on entertainment here.) The lower level is where you’ll find the state-of-the-art home theater, with its gorgeously Art Deco recessed lighting feature, plus rows of luxe seating that could put the screening room of even the biggest Hollywood scion to shame. After the show, there’s a tasting and smoking lounge, replete with humidors and wine racks galore and open brick work that recalls a Tuscan cellar. For those with a work hard/play hard mentality, there’s a fully equipped home gym, too.

All told, the home boasts a striking 12 bedrooms, 20 bathrooms, and closets with more drawers than the safety deposit room at the bank. Each room is a careful study in high-end materials, from granite to leather, from the intricate hand-cut tile work in the bathrooms to the embossed diamond-pattern carpeting throughout. Each room of the house is totally unique, a striking fact when you consider their sheer number.

Departing guests will pass through the grand two-story entry foyer. Pause on the wrought iron double staircase. Here again, look up and admire the delicate, spider like chandelier that crowns the room (in Paris’ parlance: that’s hot!). There is no shortage of the spectacular in this mega-home, but the sheer airy openness of this room might just take the cake. From the portico, a circular driveway leads out past the iron gates and into the ridges and valleys of the famed Beverly Hills.

Paris Hilton has reached a level of celebrity that is unparalleled. She has reinvented herself at every turn, going from nightclub scene queen to reality TV star to perfumer, business owner, and performing DJ. The Paris Hilton name is truly larger than life, and now, with the acquisition of one of Richard Landry’s signature homes, she has the residence to match.
