0770’S LASER-CUT CORSETRY ELEVATES ITALIAN LEATHER GOODS TO SULTRY WORKS OF ART

BY RHIANNA JONES

From Botticelli’s famed Birth of Venus to the decadent nudes of Rome’s many fountains, the female form has long been a focus of Italian art. The country’s innate sensuality and sophistication inspired the ethos of 0770, a high-end leather goods brand out of Naples created to subvert the leather lingerie market. Behind 0770 is design duo Enzo Pirozzi and Irene De Caprio, who started collaborating while studying in Rome, one at a costume academy and the other at a communications institute. Pirozzi’s vast tailoring experience and Caprio’s passion for tech birthed a brand that would innovate and elevate contemporary craftsmanship. While their specialty is laser-cut corsets, harnesses, and body wear, their handbags and leather jewelry are equally architectural. In a world of fast assembly line fashion, 0770 intentionally strays away from mass distribution and focuses on high-quality materials, construction, and design every piece is handmade in Italy with love and care. The designers’ mutual love of art, music, theater, and cinema are visibly infused into the brand’s aesthetic, pulling references from punk rockers and burlesque to artist Lucio Fontana’s Spatialism movement.

The focal point is the female body, and the looks are described as “elegant and sexy, loud and proud, sensuality is impetuous and vivid, bossy and riotous: its pure rock.” This rebellion-heavy inspiration manifests as custom leather creations like studded harnesses, Madonnaworthy conical bras, and laser-cut thigh-grazing corsetry. Each bespoke piece could turn even the simplest T-shirt outfit into a walking masterpiece, and an elevated evening look into a red carpet showstopper. While 0770’s Tales of Future Tribes collection has graced Nicki Minaj, Vogue editorials, and countless dark angels, all are invited to celebrate their body and beauty and wear lingerie “loud and proud.”
