As face coverings continue to be the standard for (most) of the country, designers are doing what they can to make masks a little less clinical, and a little more personal.
By Emily Rassias
A face covering is now a part of your ensemble, no different than a hat, a scarf or a piece of jewelry. So it has to match your mood, right? And what about your destination? The mask you wear to Del Posto (when it finally reopens) will more than likely not be the same mask you wear to the grocery store.
The idea of owning a “formal mask” and an “every day mask” is now just as relatable a concept as sweatpants versus slacks. As the demand for variety continues to grow, designers like Veronica Beard and Rag & Bone are ramping up their efforts to make masks comfortable, fashionable and versatile. It’s just up to us to wear them.
