A MANASQUAN HVAC, ELECTRIC, AND PLUMBING COMPANY GROWS ITS REPUTATION FOR EXCELLENCE

Some services are a luxury, others are essential. When the phone of a plumber or HVAC technician rings, time is typically of the essence, and customers need quick, professional service. Since its launch in 2017, Guaranteed Service has built a reputation on delivering just that. Industry veterans Helmi Ben Flah and Adam Belitz formed Guaranteed Service with a specific goal: with several years of combined experience in their arsenal, they would simply do it better. As with any new company, there was a lot of risk involved. But the company bet on itself, and today is a major player in the state.

“When we first started, it was just me, Adam, and Helmi,” said Lauren Marricco, the company’s office manager. “We literally started with zero customers. There were days when the phone didn’t ring at all. But we knew what we were capable of, and we’re growing more rapidly right now than we have in the past six years.”

Marricco herself has 17 years of experience in the industry, and she attributes the company’s success to the team’s comprehensive approach. From advertising and marketing to technician training, no aspect of running and growing a successful business is neglected. But it all starts with customer service. When a pipe bursts or an air conditioner goes out on a 90-degree day, the last thing someone wants to deal with is uncertainty. Clients want to feel confident in the company they call, in the people coming into their homes or businesses.

Ben Flah and Belitz have committed themselves to top-end service. They are constantly putting their technicians through training, giving them the opportunity to expand their skills and move up in the company. As any small business owner knows, you are only as good as your people, and at every turn the company has invested in its staff.

“Our customer service sets us apart, whether it’s the person that’s answering the phone or the person that’s coming to your house or installing your equipment,” Marricco said. “We send text messages with photos of our technicians to customers, plus background check information so the customer knows who they’re expecting in their home. It can be scary having a random person show up, especially when you have a problem and don’t know how to deal with it. Giving that security to customers makes a lot of people feel better.”

Guaranteed Service offers a comprehensive portfolio of services, from HVAC to plumbing, drain cleaning, electrical repairs, and water filtration. Since the company’s inception, the aim has always been top-to-bottom service. Maintaining a well-trained and experienced staff allows the company to meet just about any need.

But the best service in the world means nothing if people don’t know to call. This is the second piece of Guaranteed Service’s approach: spreading the word. From the early days with a staff of three to the company’s current roster of more than 60 employees, Ben Flah and Belitz have built a brand through careful marketing and a savvy approach to growing their client base: the radio.

For New Jersey drivers, few voices are more familiar than Bill Spadea on 101.5. Through a partnership with Spadea, Guaranteed Service has been able to spread the word to the host’s devoted fanbase of longtime listeners. Since its launch, the company has been advertising on his morning talk show.

“Bill talks about us multiple times a day, every single day on the radio,” said Sydney Belitz, marketing director for the company. “There’s people driving to work every day, and maybe they don’t have a problem immediately, but once they do have a problem, they’re like, who does Bill Spadea talk about all the time? Oh yeah, Guaranteed Service! It’s just about getting our message out there.”

Today Guaranteed Service has two offices, one in Manasquan and the other in Somerset. With an ever-growing base of clients and technicians, the company has been able to expand organically to serve most of south Jersey: Ocean, Somerset, Middlesex, Monmouth, Mercer, Bergen, Union, and Essex Counties. The team has also built a roster of long-time, returning clients through Comfort Club memberships, a set of packages that offer regular inspection of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical, plus priority service and discounts on repairs.

Ultimately, despite its growing reputation and size, Guaranteed Service stays true to its roots as a boutique business launched by a pair of industry veterans. Both Ben Flah and Belitz are hands-on owners in the truest sense, whether developing marketing plans or attending trainings alongside their staff. And by drawing on their natural strengths, they are able to give their best to the business every day.

“Helmi is very much on the marketing and customer side of things,” said Marricco. “He started in sales, so he knows a lot of the back-end stuff. Adam is always doing a lot on the technical side of things. He regularly talks to the technicians and helps trouble shoot. They both handle the financials. So both are pretty hands on, just in different ways.”

Marricco remembers Guaranteed Service originally being conceived as an opportunity. She, Ben Flah, and Belitz left their previous posts to push themselves, to launch a company from the ground-up informed by their decades of experience, and ultimately bet on themselves. Their long-term goal was to become the largest service provider for HVAC, electrical, and plumbing in New Jersey. Today, they’re well on their way.
