SUMMER CONCERTS
Borough President James Oddo’s Summer Concert Series will be presented every Thursday night
this summer at rotating outdoor venues. Highlights of the series include an August 9 show at
Fort Wadsworth, featuring the 42nd Division Infantry Band, and an August 16 concert at Historic
Richmondtown, which will highlight the stylings of Anthony DeRoss and Julia Gargano.
The 42nd Infantry Division Band has acted as the musical ambassador for its New York Army
National Guard division for more than a century. Since the First World War, it has entertained
audiences of tropps and the general public, and was mobilized by the Governor of New York following hurricane Sandy to assist with cleanup efforts. statenislandusa.com
