INDUSTRY: How did you get started modeling?
KENDRA ROWE: I haven’t done much “tradi-tional” modeling; however I consider myself to be a model in the social media world! I started my social media journey at the end of 2018, at 18 years old. I was lucky that in mak-ing a few try-on style videos, they went viral and my career took off! From there I was able to network with photographers and gather content for my Instagram. I’ve never done runway modelling, but definitely lifestyle modeling.
IM: Tell us about some of your favorite gigs you’ve done.
KR: Some of the best gigs I’ve done would have to be creating content for Oh Polly, White Fox Boutique, and Fashion Nova. I love getting the creative freedom to choose pieces that work for me and my audience and creating a dedicated review. Working with my favorite brands is honestly such a dream. It feels so surreal I get to do this all the time!
IM: What is your favorite thing about the spring season?
KR: I have two favorites when it comes to spring: the first being warmer weather and being closer to summer season. The second being spring fashion trends. I love moving out of the cold winter season and being able to be more creative with outfits and seeing what trends are on the rise for the warmer weather.
IM: Does your background influence your look?
KR: I would say growing up as a dancer, it’s definitely influenced my fitness journey. I would also say I learned a lot about makeup, and definitely how to apply false eyelashes [laughs]. Other than that, being Canadian influences my personality, and I’ve been told Canadian girls are the sweetest and prettiest!
IM: Where are you currently living?
KR: I currently live back in my hometown in Canada. The last few months I spent a couple months in Vancouver, and some time across Asia and Europe. It feels nice to be back home in Alberta with my family though.
IM: What do you hope for in your future?
KR: I’d love to keep growing on my social media and reach new audiences and try out different styles of content. The best part of being a creator is the freedom to try new things. I am also currently undergoing train-ing to be an actress, so hopefully we can expect to see some projects very soon.
IM: What are a few of your favorite things?
KR: A few of my favorite things are sunsets and cupcakes. Specifically a vanilla cupcake with vanilla buttercream frosting.
IM: How would you describe your personality in three words?
KR: Caring, bubbly, and charismatic.
IM: What did you always want to be when you were growing up?
KR: Growing up I always wanted to be in the eyes of the public, I just didn’t know how to do it. I’m so lucky I found my calling in social media and content creation. Being a creator has really been a dream come true.
