BORN FROM ONE OF THE MOST THRILLING COLLABORATIONS IN FASHION, THE LATEST MARVEL FROM JACOB & CO AND BUGATTI IS PURE ADRENALINE-PUMPING JOY
BY ARCHANA AITHAL ROSE
This isn’t the first time ultra-luxury Swiss watchmaker Jacob & Co has joined forces with supercar legend Bugatti to create a horological masterpiece. The two visionaries first signed an exclusive partnership in 2019, kicking off their co-branded collection with two delicious timepieces. Their latest project, the Bugatti Citron Tourbillon, recently dropped and it’s a stunner. The designer’s goal was to “produce the visceral sensation of the Bugatti 16-cylinder engine in a timepiece.” Mission most definitely accomplished.
Flanked by 578 components, the case is inspired by the fluid lines of the Chiron, the fastest supercar in Bugatti’s history. To emulate the thundering engine, the watch features four shock absorbers along with tiny moving pistons. Push the right-hand crown down to bring the engine to life as it turns the crankshaft over, pumping the mini pistons up and down like a well-oiled machine. To showcase this technical triumph, Jacob & Co designed a large but lightweight blackened titanium face that’s perched atop a midnight-tinted rubber strap finished with a titanium buckle. Backed by a fuel reserve function that keeps track of the timepiece’s 60-hour battery life, the Bugatti Citron Tourbillon is arguably the duo’s most electrifying innovation yet.
