JOINING THE HIGH-RISE MARBELLA ON WASHINGTON AVENUE, THE 39-STORY M2 AT MARBELLA MAKES FOR A LUXURIOUS AND SHARED-AMENITY CITY WITHIN A CITY

BY LAURA D.C. KOLNOSKI

Scraping the sky in flourishing Jersey City are two opulent apartment buildings. They’re connected by the alluring amenity of a parking garage and topped by a resort-style swimming pool, and also feature barbeque grills, outdoor billiards, a double-sided fireplace, and lounge. The original Marbella, completed in 2004 and 98% occupied with a waiting list, is now joined by M2 at Marbella, scheduled for spring occupancy.

Construction on the 39-floor tower began in 2013. Its one-, two-, and three bedroom apartments offer slightly smaller floor plans with different layouts than Marbella, increasing options for residents (though to enhance socializing, both buildings share all amenity spaces). M2 has a 39th floor party room with landscaped terrace, offering 360 degree views of New York City and New Jersey. Other shared amenities include a full-service concierge in each tower, OHM Yoga Studio with Fitness on Demand, state-of-the-art fitness centers, clubrooms, wine rooms, and a colorful children’s indoor playroom with wall murals. There’s also an outdoor play area, catering and meeting spaces, private conference rooms, retail space, Wi-Fi in common areas, a dog run, and bicycle storage.

M2 at Marbella units feature hardwood floors, quartz countertops, Energy Star Whirlpool appliances, full-size Bosch washer/dryers, sustainable bedroom carpets, walk-in closets, and travertine tile bathrooms. Studios start at $2,100 per month, one-bedrooms at $2,765, and two bedrooms at $3,650, with three-bedrooms ranging from $5,550 to $5,725. Most units have floor-to-ceiling windows.

At the original, slightly taller Marbella, studios also start at $2,100 monthly, three-bedrooms at $5,550. Units there feature gourmet kitchens, ceramic tile bathrooms, and balconies with Manhattan skyline views in some units.

A Hudson-Bergen light rail station is just outside the entrance, and Jersey City’s Newport Mall shopping center is also close at hand, as is the Newport stop of the PATH train (Manhattan is a 15-minute trip away).

Garden State Development, Inc. and Prudential Real Estate Investors partnered with Mack Cali/Roseland for the community’s development. Built to be “greener,” their project is pursuing LEED (Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design) certification.

“Jersey City is experiencing exciting things, and Marbella offers an alternative to New York City, while still allowing residents to live in a vibrant area,” said Vice President of Marketing Ilene Jablonski. “This riverfront community is also ideal for commuters or professionals who work in Jersey City and want to live close to where they work.”
